  • 14:00-14:15: Opening Ceremony with the participation of Scott A. Reese (Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy in Romania), Prof. Sorin Costreie (Vice-Rector, University of Bucharest), and Prof. Octavian Roske (Head of the English Department, University of Bucharest)

  • 14:15-15:30: U.S. Political Institutions, guest lecture by Scott A. Reese (Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy in Romania)

10:00-12:00: Presentation of the Fulbright Awards Program and independent study opportunities in the United States, with the participation of Corina Danaila, Romanian Program Coordinator, Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission, and Mihaela Doaga, Educational Adviser, Fulbright Educational Advising Center.

12:00-14:00: Appalachian-Carpathian Mountain Initiative, guest lecture by Theresa L. Burris, Director of Appalachian Regional and Rural Studies Center, Radford University, USA

12:00-14:00: “We Fly to Metropolis”: The Fall and Rise of an American City.  Film screening and guest lecture by Barbara Nelson, University of Bucharest.


Friday, November 9, American Studies Library (7-13 Pitar Mos St.)


12.00-14.00: "Travel Makes the Thinking Mind More American": Americans Abroad in the 19th Century, guest lecture by Monica Cure, Senior U.S. Fulbright Scholar, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi.

14:00-16:00: New Play Interactive Workshop, theater workshop with Trent Sanders, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA/ Fulbright grantee, Babes- Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca.
